WFMU out of NJ has a live in studio performance of the Dexateens. It was put up on their site on June 8t.h The band plays for about 30 minutes. Here is the problem. I can't burn it. I can get it up on Itune but it is to long. It is a stream a that is like 2 hours and 8 minutes long. Itunes won't let me cut it up. Can anyone help me burn a copy? Here is the site. It sounds fuckin awesome.

cool. i'm glad ur finding something u like.

red dust is a monster.
singlewide: although a mellower affair.....vox and songwriting really shine on it.
lost and found: prolly too "stonsey" for ur tastes. lots of non-glimmer on there also. some stellar picking on alter blues.

just my opinion

Singlewide has been the definition of a grower for me. I liked when it first came out but it took me a while to love it. Now it's probably my favorite Dexateens record. The songwriting and arrangements are top notch.

I put on Hardwire Healing in my car yesteday after having listened to Singlewide for the past month or so.

Fierce Alabama shit. "Naked Ground" and "Maker's Mound" are two of my all-time favorite songs ever.

Tried to convince the boys to play "Outside the Loop" last week. Fucking love that song. The bassist concurred. However, Elliot needs to drop his tuning and the new 3rd guitarist doesn't really know it, so I was shit out of luck. Didn't stop me from screaming "Loop!" in between every song.

Once Zip finishes defining all conceivable genres of music, I think you can come up with a "Code of Conduct" for The Rock Show. My only request... Please don't spell it with an 'a'.

Emusic has all the early albums and is where I loaded up on the teens per pattersons noted recommendation. I love these guys. Take Me to the Speedway is a top ten all time song. As a resident of the coastal South (okay mid atlantic but below the mason dixon) this is my favorite lyric.

"Take me to the shoreline. Dip me in the warm brine. Wash away the bad times."

I take that baptism as often as I can...

Great post dime. Ive been on the bench for a while but I had to pile on for the dexateens love. Well said and well deserved.
We were Heathens in their eyes at the time.
I guess I'm just a Heathen still...

after upping it I found out this was recorded on the 3rd, and broadcast on the 8th - oh well

GREAT set - in studio at WFMU -looking forward to Glory Fire

The Dexateens
6/8/10
WFMU Studios
Jersey City, NJ

Foxhole Rock
Pine Belt Blues
Settle Down
Coal Mine Lung
Cardboard Hearts
Naked Ground > Dixieland Delight (Alabama cover ! )
Makers Mound
Madelene

This is the entire set in one mp3 - I was going to split it up but was having some "technical" problems - it's better to sit and listen to it all the way through anyway

I listened to that performance live on the radio a couple of nights ago. Short set, but very good.

I REALLY wish I was in Bham tonight and tomorrow. So sad I couldn't make it down there. It's being recorded (audio and video) by a pro crew. Might be the last shows for a while.... or ever.
