Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

I'm guessing the "X" means he can't drink (legally).

And the shirt must be for ironic effect.

it was an 80's punk rock movement. Straight Edge. We were 18 and all the best hardcore at the time was straight edge. It got a little silly and I turned 21. Movement over for me.

I've never taken a pissbreak during a DBT show but if I had it would have been during Dancing Ricky.

I have some friends who were "straight edge" - I went to a couple shows with them in Atl and it was a bunch of lame-ass racist skinhead punks - I'm not positive that's what Ian mackaye had in mind.

I was too much of a sex, drugs & RNR guy for that crowd.

I'll never understand straight edge. Rock and roll without sex and drugs, well, just isn't rock and roll anymore. There's absolutely no joy in straight edge.

As far as drummer's go, it's a god damn shame that no one has mentioned Dave Grohl in this thread.

NostraDIMEus resurrecting the drummers thread ahead of Neil Peart’s passing.

check out some vids of the last NIN tour. Ilan Rubin is a monster. perfect drug was insane! he plays with angels & airwaves, too but i don't think he's drumming for them. very talented guy.

All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs
