Darkness is my fave too and I don't think I've ever seen Born To Run mentioned as Bruce's 6th best album. Smitty, you're a rebel.

I think we can distinguish between any artist's best work and our personal faves by same artist. My fave 3 Bruce albums are, in order: Darkness/Nebraska/WIEES. But if I had to list best, one of those 3 is going to be supplanted by BTR, and the order mixed about. Might even have to kick out a second for The River.
Now it's dark.

I'd put Straight Time in that list too.Smitty wrote:Flea wrote:Smitty wrote:Darkness

BTR
Joad

Magic
the rest.
That's being awfully generous to Tom Joad.
I've grown to love that record - Highway 29, Youngstown, Ghost of Tom Joad, Sinaloa Cowboys and the Line are all top shelf songs. If only the production wasn't so murky and Bruce didn't mumble the lyrics, it might have been in my top 3.
