Likewise. I had a fantastic time chatting with yourself and Mrs. Clams. Really a wonderful handful of days.

Love that comp as well as that label. Likely mentioned in the liner notes but of possible interest is that Arrogance included Don Dixon who went on to co-produce the first couple R.E.M. albums as well as producing the Smithereens, the Connells, Hootie, and a host of others. Also a solo career, a session musician, and a touring member of Mary Chapin Carpenters band. This cut comes from a previously unreleased album that was finally released (by this same label) in 2016. It struck me as odd to see them included on this comp as I mostly knew them for their rock/power pop leaning stuff. They were also huge metal fans early on and used to perform Sabbath covers under their Dogbreath alter ego. They've never really gotten their due outside of NC but on their hometurf they're considered ground zero as far as the local indie/alternative scene though their music doesn't exactly fit that mold. It was more their DIY approach before that was a thing that earned them that reputation.

I would say that without YHF, I may have never found DBT and so many other artists I love. It came out during my senior year of high school and was a life-changer.

If you haven't seen it I would highly recommend the "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart" documentary. It's about the making of YHF & the drama surrounding it.

Oh yeah, I love it. I got caught up in all the mythology surrounding it with the label not wanting to release it, etc. I was a kid who read Rolling Stone and I would be all over anything they gave good reviews to.

Was listening to the new KV with a headful of cold medicine the other day and it was a perfect vibe. Like the album a lot.
