Oh hell yeah! I love this record & am totally bummed that the tour got cancelled before the show I had tickets for. Was looking forward to seeing Sturgill rock out. I like the bluegrass records plenty but at heart I'm a rocker. I hope that maybe he can find a happy medium on future tours (if there are any). I'm sure that Sturgill is one of those artists that will keep us on our toes by constantly changing.

Sturgill's super easy to manipulate. Just laud whatever he just did, and he'll do something totally different.
High Top Mountain and MetaModern come out and he's the savior of country, which pisses him off so he makes a soul record, and then a hard rock record. When those get praised as signs of his musical genius that he can weave in and out of genres effortlessly, he drops two killer bluegrass albums and says he's always been a bluegrass guy.
Been on a huge Dan kick lately. My old man is/was a huge a fan, and I was always surrounded by their entire original discography growing up, but never spent a lot of time listening on my own.
The other day it dawned on me how despite having heard "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" literally thousands (probably 10s of thousands) of times in my life, I had never really honed in on the solo. It's just fucking glorious. Fuckin' Skunk Baxter. Blows me away how I could be inundated by something for so long and never really have it fully click.

If there’s a more alpha move than wearing your own band’s shirt at a gig, I’d like to see it
