How is this? I've heard one song from it and it wasn't like it was bad it was just a little too obvious they wanted to sound like the Stones.

Listened to a download of the album on my 'puter, so not the best venue to judge, but I liked their obvious garagey influences. Some songs are more retro than others. But yeah, very Mick Taylor-era Stonesish, but also some "Don't Look Back" Dylan flavor thrown in. The album as a whole seemed less derivative than the cherry picked Youtube videos. Good sense of humor throughout, too. Pretty enjoyable, but not sure I'll pick it up.
How's that for a non-committal pseudo-endorsement?

"Shake the Frost" is neck-and-neck with Turnpike Troubadours "The Bird Hunters", "Birthday Boy", and "Elephant" for best song of the past 10 years.

The irony of craving my stolen Gang of Four vinyl in this gross consumerist need for a binkie manner is lost on me:
By the time it got to Another Day, Another Dollar, I couldn't take it any longer and switched to the enemy's story my ass.
Not sure how this got past me at the time. Probably I was too hip for it:
God only knows what's next.

Living in the Past:
After that, I think more Beck. Or maybe Jethro Tull. We'll see how it goes.

their finest record.
Definitely like The Church, but........ worked with a guy in a record store circa 87-88 who was such an enormous Church fanboy! He never ever let up on talking about them/playing their albums in store, to the point that to this day I get really stabby just at the mention of Marty Wilsson-Piper's name
and yet you're ok w/ endless fanboi drivel about the dead.
