What's Everyone Listening to?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Nice one. At the time, I think I liked the follow-up, Crosswinds, better, now I'm not so sure and will have to check 'em out for the first time in a while.

found a copy of this 3cd set last night, dipping my toes ina bit before leaving work. caught my eye cuz its on the label that reissued a ton of sun ra albums.

the recordings are from ~1980 so the quality is much better than most field recording type projects ive heard, but its still scratching the raw blues itch well

this ones particularly great

Somehow I overlooked it when it came out and only picked it up a few months ago. It's been a steady player ever since. "The Night David Bowie Died" is a brilliant tune.

My first ever purchase from Springsteen's archive releases. I had this show on two 90 minute cassettes back in the early 80's and later on three CD's. Listened to it so much that, to this day, I can still remember every word of banter, the crowd yelling, and even the tune-up guitar notes that he plays before starting up each song. Fantastic.

This companion piece by Dave Marsh at Rolling Stone from 1978 is pretty fucking good too. (Saw it floating around on FB a few days ago).

not sure if you mean this as a diss or not but so far their album arcs (not counting kaceys christmas album) are pretty identical (in growth, not so much style) and im intrigued about kaceys next step because lp4 is where taylor started to take a serious hard turn

golden hour is aoty material for me

Diss? Just pointing out that young, attractive country singer sees more dollar signs in pop music

My ten year-old daughter said she was pretty good opening for Harry Styles a couple weeks ago.

I made the exact same Kacey Musgraves = Taylor Swift comparison to my wife this weekend.

Definitely not meant as an insult. Just a very similar career arc from country to pop. Shakespeare and Ryan Adams have changed my mind about Taylor Swift's artistic merit.

Nothing against Taylor and Kacey and their career paths, I'm sure it's a smart move for them and their bank accounts, but when the country girl goes pop that's where I get off the bus.
