One of my favourite live albums
I started writing a post in the fave live albums lists yesterday, before I remembered I'm no good with lists and deleted before posting. But this one, Donny Hathaway Live and a couple of more would have had to be mentioned.
I like the way you think RolanK. Busted out this Van yesterday, now I will dust off the Donnie Hathaway as well...

Did another listen to the new Lee Bains tonight. Cool hearing the local references (Mt. Meigs, the fountain, Go to church or the devil will get you*, etc). I'm still frustrated with the lyrics being buried in the mix, but Bains and the GFs have come light years since Dereconstructed.

I'm putting off listening to it. I really like the first one. But I was pretty underwhelmed by the second one. I don't want this one to be the same way.

It's not bad by any means, but I don't get the "AOTY" hype AT ALL

The new record by sisters Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer is streaming at NPR Fist Listen. I've got high hopes and expectations for this one.

never really paid attention to who produced their earlier stuff. i'm kind of a late bloomer with these guys. the live stuff has really grabbed me. saw them a few years ago in vegas @ the hard rock on the strip. they have a really nice room there but don't book name bands often. i had disabled seating & much to my surprise they put me on a couch behind the security barrier at the side of the stage. it was an awesome show! have tickets for seattle in november. have gotten into the recorded stuff in the past few years a lot more.

ps: am a total flaming lips head, so the fridmann thing kind of leaped out at me this time.
pss: this album sounds really great to me. bit different from what i've heard before.
