Loving this. Evan Felker is right there with Sturgill as best songwriter under 40.Iowan wrote:

Not sure about your commentary but I agree this is a great record.Iowan wrote:Loving this. Evan Felker is right there with Sturgill as best songwriter under 40.Iowan wrote:

Tyler Childers will be there soon enough.Clams wrote:Not sure about your commentary but I agree this is a great record.Iowan wrote:Loving this. Evan Felker is right there with Sturgill as best songwriter under 40.Iowan wrote:
Isbell writes too many boring songs to make that tier for me. For every Elephant, there's 3 How To Forgets.
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I wouldn't put Childers anywhere near a Best Under 40 list. But given his catalogue (and assuming you're trying to be objective), I don't see how you can omit Isbell.Iowan wrote: Tyler Childers will be there soon enough.

A year ago we lost Chris Porter. This one hits a bit harder today.

TP playlist (90 songs... Heartbreakers, solo, Wilburys, Mudcrutch) while doing a couple of hours of yard work.

3 hours, probably 45 songs, and not one clunker. That's the magic of Tom Petty.Clams wrote:TP playlist (90 songs... Heartbreakers, solo, Wilburys, Mudcrutch) while doing a couple of hours of yard work.

I have and I don't get the fuss. I've tried her record several times and I get the bloodlines etc, but her record does very little for me. Seems kinda average to me. Of course YMMV.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:have you reached a verdict?Zip City wrote:Lilly Hiatt

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Glad to hear that, thought it was just me. I find it average at best. Her voice sounds so contrived to me, and the songwriting was pretty blah. That ain't enough for me, life's way too short for meh/average/mediocre/whatever word you wanna useClams wrote:I have and I don't get the fuss.
