3. Girls of Wild Strawberries – Pollard said the inspiration for this infectiously hooky track is the 1957 Ingmar Bergman movie, Wild Strawberries. Bob said he found the Swedish women in the film to be “striking” and was inspired to write this sunny song which exudes sunshine and positivity. Definitely a top-tier GBV slice of Pollard pop. “Survived and prayed to be free. And send my letters out, delivered sermons to the sea, for the girls of wild strawberries.” (10)

On the playlist for today. There were a plethora of good new releases yesterday. The remaster of the Cure "Wish" is stunning. It's like a brand new record. Haven't got to the extra stuff yet except a few songs, waiting until I get the cd Saturday. There's an interesting Bowie box, too. & for me, the 20th anniversary edition of the Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" is huge. I've got a cd on the way (Amazon had it cheap). 6 cds! & there aren't a lot of demos. Instead the Lips included the EPs, b-sides, radio sessions & 2 concerts. It's a treasure chest! Minor quibble on the Cure package: they didn't include the b-sides. I would've rather had a few less demos & had remasters of that stuff instead. Like I said, minor quibble. The remaster of "Wish" is so good that it's moved the album up on my favorite Cure album list.
