On the way home from work today, I heard "Perilous Night" on the local indie radio station. I cranked it up to 11. They play a lot of Isbell, but not a lot of DBT.

Love it. I think there is a cinematic thing about Strength Of Strings that would make it perfect for a movie or TV show.

My homemade Spotify Black Crowes station: Black Crowes, solo Rich, CRB, Trigger Hippy, solo Chris, along with a smattering of Stones, Faces, and Derek & the Dominos etc. Man this station kicks ass!

read a lot of reactions to this before playing it and figured it couldnt possibly be as wild a left turn as people said, but it is. im into it. not picked out too many lyrics yet but turners voice sounds brilliant.

This is still growing for me, but I think I'm ready to have an opinion on it. Of the SM/Jicks records, I think I'd slot this in behind the s/t and
Face the Truth (which means I like it quite a lot). "Kite," "Cast Off," "Solid Silk," "Middle America," and "Shiggy" collectively make up as strong a five-song collection as he's had on any record since the self-titled.
All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs
