I didn't really spend enough time with this last year. As much as I like "The Mountain" and "Arrow", I tended to forget about this despite finding some of the songs (particularly "Gates of Dawn") to be really immediate.

Wonder if this is the Pablo that Kanye is wittering about? Probably not.

This was one of the first reggae albums I bought back in 1979, it's just been reissued with 13 additional tracks from the era.

Read the song titles and keep a straight face. I dare you.
I had been hearing some of the songs on Outlaw Country with anticipation for the release. I love it. Great satirical stuff.

Listened to the first half dozen songs on the way to work this morning. The joke gets kinda old after a while, but it's a good joke.

Reminded me of Unknown Hinson:

If Wheeler Walker was just the joke, it would wear out fast. The tunes are pretty fuckin' sharp though.

Marc Maron just had him (Ben Hoffman) on his podcast recently. Good listen if you're interested.

I enjoy humor in music but don't care for this at all. It reminds of that Johnny Corndog mess from a few years ago in a way. Not for me.

I feel like this is more overt comedy and Jonny Corndawg was more trying to convince you it was serious.
