Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
It has gotten very good reviews, and is a collaboration with the singer from The National. Nothing to be embarrassed about

When did Aaron Dessner become the singer for The National?

My bad, "member" of The National. The point still stands

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
After Ryan Adams covered that album of her's, I gained a lot of respect for T Swift. I'd never gave a conscious listen to her songs before, because I just don't really like modern pop music much, especially from a sonic stand point.
Stripping back the electronic effects and swirls revealed she's a hell of a songwriter. I still don't like the arrangements much, but I'm willing to give her newer album a listen.
If she made her music sound like this more often, I'd be an unabashed fan

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Agreed. The production aesthetics around modern pop music do a great job of making good songs sound terrible.
I'm not a fan of Ed Sheeran, but I've seen enough live clips of him performing (and heard enough of his songs on the radio) to see a sharp contrast in the sound of his songs. Live, it's mostly Ed and an acoustic guitar, while his studio work is layered with electronic nonsense.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I still need to give the T Swift record a serious listen, which I will do soon, but yeah it sounded good while I was working in the office this morning.
NP: The four released Jerry Joseph & the Stiff Boys songs which I've got on a spotify playlist. So. Fucking. Good.
Here's the playlist link if anyone wants to give it a spin.
Cannot wait for this record to come out next month.

I was just teasing you. I'm more of a Miley Cyrus fan. There, I admitted it! That record she did with Flaming Lips could've used some editing but was fantastic. I'm no fan of the National (I tried) or Bon Iver either.
