A concept album from Ray? Let's see how this goes
Ah, it was produced by Jim James. That explains a lot

This is kinda extraordinary. I'm blown away right now.
If you haven't been a fan of Ray LaMontagne in the past, I encourage you to try this out. It's very different.

Beebs is not a ragey man
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
No, but I dont' see what that has to do with anything. If I stopped listening to musicians that were coked up or assholes, I'd have to erase 90% of my playlist. The abusive part I haven't heard aboutBeebs wrote:Will it change the fact that he's a coked up, abusive asshole?Zip City wrote:If you haven't been a fan of Ray LaMontagne in the past, I encourage you to try this out. ETA: A quick google only brings up articles about a drug-abusing past, but how music saved him from that. What do you know that I/Google doesn't?Zip City wrote:No, but I dont' see what that has to do with anything. You actively seeking out music made by coked up assholes, or are saying most musicians are?Zip City wrote:No, but I dont' see what that has to do with anything. I'm saying many/most musicians are either doing drugs and/or are assholes. That would be a tough criteria to limit your musical tastes byRolanK wrote:

Diggin' these guys a lot. Hat tip to Iowan for slapping them on my radar.
This might be the best DBT song not written by DBT. I can see our beloved band tearing this song up.

KG, there's a book about Hipgnosis which is great. definitely be on the look out for it. Peter Christopherson (Throbbing Gristle, Coil) was a photographer and designer for them for a while.Kudzu Guillotine wrote:I loved Zep's covers as I did most that are designed by Hipgnosis.

RNDM is Joseph Arthur, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, and Richard Stuverud. Ghost Riding is their second album, released last week. It's definitely worth checking out if you're into any of those guys' day jobs, but it's more than just a side project. In fact, I think it kicks PJ's last two albums' asses. If you need a Spotify recommendation, the first song, "Stumbling Down" is a winner.
