Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
The kid wanted to play me this on the way home Sunday:
I still can't decide if it was good or just good for those guys. I'm leaning toward good.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Really good. It's a concept record and has some of the pitfalls of that format but the songs are very, very strong.cortez the killer wrote:How is it?Tequila Cowboy wrote:

Keeping with the Jerry Lee, Mick, Memphis theme of the week..... Jerry Lee Lewis- Last Man Standing.
Evening Gown might be my favorite tune from the Mick/Keith solo albums.

I’ve listened to this four times today. Not an easy listen but it’s an amazing record.dogstar wrote:

This is definitely Clams' fault.

The song I posted is a lot better than that, though.Seafood's just seafood and it all smells dying

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Out of the Blues by Boz Scaggs came on to my radar because of a couple of recommendations from trusted sources and the album lives up to its billing. If you're not a fan I'm not sure this will change your mind but if you are a fan you really should listen to this.
3614 Jackson Highway by Cher is on David Hood's list of 5 essential Muscle Shoals albums, so I figured what the heck, right? What the heck is right. Hood says that this is the first album made at the studio so I get that it has historical significance for him and a few others, but it's hard to see much musical value here. The band is fine of course but of the many things Cher was, is and may be, soul singer is not one of them.

Wore this and their second one ("Room on Fire") out in late high school/early college days. Still holds up.cortez the killer wrote:

Again. This is very likely my AotY. Very hard to see anything beating it out. I think it stands up to A Man Under the Influence as Alejandro's best work. Simply stunning.
