Tried to find the general music podcast recommendations thread, but failed.
Came across this podcast called Broken Record. This episode is a conversation between David Byrne, Rick Rubin and Malcolm Gladwell (host). Although DBT is not mentioned, the main topic is protest music, also touches upon 3rd person point of view writing, as well as George Wallace and the South.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
i think there were a few people on here that loved hop along's painted shut in 2015. i was def one but for some reason the followup didnt do much for me. early singles from this gave me a bit of "ah fuck she found synths" anxiety but after listening to the three hop along albums all weekend and now my third time through this, its still 100% true to the songwriting voice on the hop along albums and it integrates those subtle bloops so much smoother than most attempts. even the carry the zero cover delivers, and when i saw that on the tracklist i found it just a bit too on the nose for a project like this, but she plays with it just enough to justify covering it at all
