What's Everyone Listening to?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Having played the Kendrick Lamar album to death since release, and 3 times yesterday, I have a feeling it will eclipse To Pimp...

Even that monumental twat Bono can't spoil the track XXX. Bono guesting on any other artists album would have me reaching for the skip button double quick.

I'm really looking forward to this when it comes out. Not my usual cup of tea but the last album was incredible.

i was a little doubtful about the new song they played at Psycho, but this record is really good. they added another guitar player to the band since Nick couldn't replicate all the stuff they recorded for this record.

if anyone is in Portland OR, they are playing Stumpfest this weekend (which is why he was in town... they paid to fly him over from Germany just for the festival. damn!).

i'm gonna listen to it again.

I had posted about this on FB but it's also relevant here. I spent the week in Florida on business and started heading home onFriday in 2 6 hour driving chunks. I started out listening to My Aim is True followed by Greetings from Asbury Park NJ. At that point I decided to make first albums a theme and asked for some suggestions. Here's the full list that got me home:

Elvis Costello- My Aim is True
Springsteen- Greetings...
R.E.M- Chronic Town/Murmur (couldn't decide so I bent the rules)
Dire Straits- st
Jason & the Scorchers- Fervor EP
Led Zeppelin- I
Joe Jackson- Look Sharp
Los Lobos- Will the Wolf Survive
Pavement- Slanted & Enchanted
X- Los Angeles
Nick Lowe- Jesus of Cool

It was a fun exercise and in some cases broke me out of my comfort zone on an artist.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved
