Everyone in the DBT facebook groups is raving about it. Amazing! Best record ever! I didn't have the heart to chime in and say IMO it's a big boring snoozer.
Who knows, different strokes, different folks and all that. Maybe it'll grow on me, I'll definitely give it another try or two.

Brand new today from CARY HUDSON. I'll listen to this over Waxahatchee seven days a week. And damn can his daughter Anna sing.

The Cary Hudson is really good. My wife’s paternal roots are straight Yazoo City and she lived there part-time growing, so I’m partial to the delta imagery and vibes.
I’m gonna try hard to sneak down to south Mississippi and catch one of his gigs this summer.

Cary Hudson is a treasure and I agree the record is really good. Saw him perform a few years ago in a small bar (The Five Spot) when we visited Nashville. He was so good and super nice as well. His daughter performed with him - I specifically remember her singing Black Magic Woman. She looked pretty young so I don't want to say it was sexy as hell but I will admit to having an impure thought or two at the time.
Definitely see him if you can.

I see Patterson loves it so I'm afraid the hype train has only just left the station at this point.

he now lives in watertown, but w/ all those spotify checks rolling in, he might be your neighbor soon.
Have you checked out real estate prices in Watertown lately? ;) :o
when i was looking for a place to buy in 2021, i originally started looking in Waltham and Watertown. not much caught my eye in Watertown aside from the proliferation of Blue Lives Matter signs dotting many lawns.

Modern Power Pop Mix on Spotify. Excellent and chock full of songs and artists I'm not familiar with (as well as some excellent choices from among the usual suspects).

It might not be the album of the year frontrunner the internet hype machine has made it out to be, but another strong record from Katie Crutchfield. Big fan of Brad Cook’s production and especially MJ Lenderman’s work on guitar and backing vox.

It’s not anywhere close to the best album ever, but it’s the best new album I’ve heard so far this year.

I doubt he’ll ever make another great album but “Outlaws & Mustangs” and the title track are great songs in the vein of his 70’s revival wheelhouse

The Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame Inspired by my recent expedition to hear Nick Bartsch's Ronin (see live music thread) which is actually pretty different but has enough similarities to give me a push I thought I'd go way back in the way back machine for this one. The best of it still sounds pretty great to these ears but it didn't fully stand up for an entire album. The musicianship is of course terrific.
