Happy Release Day

Heading to the record store when they open in a few hours before I start on the pain meds for the day. My goddaughter gave me enough of a gift certificate for 2 cds which was very nice of her. Going to get the GBV, Mike Campbell & Beach House. I can afford one. Should keep me entertained. Have to take it easy today as I had the doctor who requires over 2 hours of driving through traffic hell yesterday & I'm hurting pretty bad from it. Enough to require blotto state, haha. Snuck a listen to Mike Campbell & that's a real good one too.

About to dive down the solo David Kilgour rabbit hole. When I reemerge, would love some recommendations on which Flying Nun EPs to attack.

a lot of these are hard to find on actual record, but in some cases they have either been reissued and/or put on a comp or maybe available via streaming. if you can't find them i can send on digital files in most cases.

bird nest roys - whack it all down
goblin mix - S/T
sombretones - S/T
gordons - future shock
bats - they have a lot of great 12"s and all the early ones are on Compiletly Bats
tall dwarfs - also a of good ones, Hello Cruel World and The Short and the Sick of It pull a lot of these together
the orange - fruit salad lives (the non-Shayne Carter member of SJ Fits first band)
snapper - S/T
pin group - go to town
verlaines - 10 o'clock in the afternoon

Really good record. Even has Ian Hunter on it! I had a ticket to see him open for Chris Stapleton & Margo Price. It's a 2.5 hour drive each way from Seattle though. I just can't do it. The main reason I was going was Mike & it's just not worth the pain for a short set. Hoping he plays somewhere smaller in town later on. He always blows me away live. I saw Petty a real lot & I even ante'd up to see him & Neil Finn in Fleetwood Mac. Both were worth the effort for sure.

Due to budgetary constraints, I don't buy a lot of cds (but do buy some!) but am real happy with both of these today. Always good to get some great new tunes!
