What's Everyone Listening to?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

So I’d heard of Cracker for years in the DBT community but never really listened. A friend sent this song the other day. Patterson is playing in the video. The song would be a great homecoming sing-a-long.

IMHO - McCartney's post-Beatles masterpiece. Love everything about this record!

Start from the beginning and work your way through their discography. Lowery can be a bit unlikeable from time to time, but in my estimation, one of the most consistent writers out there and Johnny Hickman - I love his playing so much - his tone, melodic leads, tasty fills - probably in my top ten favourite guitarists. When the air clears and the world is safe for live rock n roll again, I will be doing whatever it takes to see Cracker live again (along with a few other select artists that I absolutely need to see) - I am never taking live music for granted again!

It's great. Love the lo-fi self-titled one, too. Snagged both on vinyl a week or so ago for under $10 each.

The Dan!
I was scrolling through the Spotify Playlist thread, and saw them on your Yacht Rock play list.

I've never associated them with that scene, but it got the bug in my ear. The Dan was a huge part of my child hood musical experience. My mom would hear me in the other room singing "Dirty Work" when I was 3 or 4. "Can't Buy A Thrill", "Pretzel Logic", and "Aja" were all staples in the old man's line up.

I love Steely Dan. I think they hit that Yacht Rock zone with their later albums, particularly on Aja.

Yeah, I can totally hear that sonic template. I've just always associated that term almost exclusively with the 80's.
