What's Everyone Listening to?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Well...
With Steve Earle:

Jackalope-core:

(There's also a countryish version of this with Steve Earle)

Some Satan-worshippin' rock 'n' roll:

And another Hey Ya cover:

I saw Supersuckers live probably half a dozen times, as they often toured with Reverend Horton Heat. Fun as hell, but I never felt their records lived up to their live shows

No, they don't. But there's a handful of songs on each album with the same ass-kickin' energy. That's probably why my favorite albums of theirs are collections: Devil's Food and How The Supersuckers Became the Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World.

It's not as immediate as Acid Tongue, but it is quite good. Plus, tits.

Any thoughts on the cover beyond the obvious? Is she being ironic? Defiant? Commercial? Expressing her individuality? Other?

(I haven't listened to this one yet but I'm a fan).

Nice pull out of the catalog.

NP: The Who (Deluxe)
First listen. Initial reactions in the current Who thread. I suspect you'll like it at least as much as me, 4sooner.

I'm going with ironic/cheeky/other in much the same way Roxy Music's cheesecake covers were a wink and a nod to the tawdry reality beyond the airbrushed models. Her torso is featured like a perfume ad, but the rest of the photo (above the shoulders) looks almost dowdy and her gown is pure schmaltz. It's almost a direct play on the cover of her last album, with the heroine in the same pose, but a different costume.
Or maybe she just wanted to show off her tits; who knows?

I really don’t know. It’s a theme though. Her last album had a similar, albeit less revealing shot.

For the handful of Caitlin Rose fans here.... yesterday she tweeted out a link to an unreleased track called Gemini Moon. It's from 2014 which is about a year after The Stand In came out.

Re Jenny Lewis, no idea about the tit shot but her records always seem have a few songs I love and I few I skip and the new one falls into that same category for me.
