Great album. Ever notice how a bunch of the watery, weird sea creature sounds and feel of many of these songs sound a lot like parts of "Submission" by the Pistols?schlanky wrote:

I had this album in high school. I just wanted them to abduct me. It's a pretty great punk record though.Clams wrote:

I am not very familiar with any of Nick Cave's catalog but i have to say since my latest binge on Peaky Blinders my interest is piqued.Clams wrote:

Same here about his catalogue but.... I highly recommend that you all subscribe to his Red Hand Files which is basically an email newsletter where Cave answers random questions about life from fans all over the world. He does it via emails which come about once each week. His answers are always intimate, moving and thought provoking. My description probably doesn't do it justice (New Yorker does a better job: https://www.newyorker.com/culture/cultu ... ewsletters )bovine knievel wrote:I am not very familiar with any of Nick Cave's catalog but i have to say since my latest binge on Peaky Blinders my interest is piqued.Clams wrote:
Anyway, check it out you won't regret it.
Here's the link to subscribe: https://www.theredhandfiles.com/#subscribe
Edit: And btw it's just one email per week, each one being just a few paragraphs. Not overwhelming at all.

It’s a deep, deep dive and well worth taking. I think I have at least 90% of what he’s released under his name but still feel like a rank neophyte. There’s gold in them there hills but it’s a long time on the mining. I may never get a full vice grip on his massive body of work but at least I’m enjoyin’ the ridebovine knievel wrote:I am not very familiar with any of Nick Cave's catalog but i have to say since my latest binge on Peaky Blinders my interest is piqued.Clams wrote:

I checked out the New Yorker article and this reminded me of World of Hurt.Clams wrote:Same here about his catalogue but.... "To love is to feel pain" there ain't no way around it“It seems to me, that if we love, we grieve. That’s the deal,” he wrote to Cynthia.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Since Floyd is obviously too lazy to help us out, here's a compilation I found on Cave's Spotify page. 45 songs, almost four hours, surely a rabbit hole.bovine knievel wrote:and while you're at it, Floyd... give us that AOTW on the Gourds you promised us.Clams wrote:Can you put together a playlist?
