The music sounds great but really, how can you take him seriously? (I say that as I'm laughing, obviously).Iowan wrote:This.boyyourself wrote:WWIII
As good as any of his other albums. Sonically, might be his best. If you think this guy is just a joke, you aren't getting it.

It actually does make me laugh out loud. That combined with just how good the music is and how good the tunes are make it quite a unique experience. Number one country record on I tunes right now btw. The evolving story line is classic. He has a wife and kid now!

So the new Tweedy solo album sounds more like a Tweedy solo album?cortez the killer wrote:After the initial listen, it reminds me much more of Sukierae than anything Wilco related.Iowan wrote:I’m pleasantly surprised thus far. Definitely embracing his folk/alt country roots and doesn’t feel as tossed off as the last couple Wilco records
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

The new Tweedy. Promising. Liking it better than anything Wilco since, let me see...Wilco (The Album)?

Any of you folks ever listen to the Spanic Boys ? They were a father/son led group from Milwaukee who released a few records in the 1990's. I stumbled onto them recently and I dig what they were doing. Lots of telecaster rockabilly sounding guitars. Here's a clip from Conan back then....

What's your verdict on the whole album? I've heard a few cuts I really liked, but wasn't sure if it was worth it for the whole slab.cortez the killer wrote:

Stumbled upon this on Amazon today... Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star Lullaby Versions of Drive-By Truckers

And no, I'm not listening to this now (really, I swear). Hopefully this is the weirdest thing I see on the internet today.

^ I'm only disappointed they're all instrumentals. I was expecting a children's chorus on "Birthday Boy."

I like it. They remind me a little bit of Natural Child, but with more of an allegiance to the Animals than the Stones.scotto wrote:What's your verdict on the whole album? I've heard a few cuts I really liked, but wasn't sure if it was worth it for the whole slab.cortez the killer wrote:
