Thanks! Wasn’t sure if it was a Kolten Wong albumIowan wrote:The 2017 harvest.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:What is Harvest ‘17?
I'm just acknowledging that I probably went a good week without listening to anything other than their last album while I was harvesting last fall.

Love this era of Molina. What a treat to have "new" material that's nearly as good as what made the album.
All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs

Whaddaya think I was playing before that Turnpike album came out?Clams wrote:Not even one listen to the Yawpers while in the tractor?Iowan wrote:The 2017 harvest.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:What is Harvest ‘17?

this is extremely good. not sure if their debut was more of a proper folk album (this ones an ATO release, which usually means the band at least started out playing americana) but this has a ton of pop sheen without losing all personality. great harmonies
i found this at a flea market recently and it looked like some reliable lowkey guy & girl fuzz pop and it turns out the girl drummed in the apples ins tereo and it is indeed reliable lowkey guy & girl fuzz pop with some surprisingly great shreddy bits. like a twee dino jr at times

Thanks to WWCD and all for the Van Morrison tip. I don't get it: Several of his albums are among my favorites and he's definitely someone who deserves a place in the rock Pantheon, but damned if I don't always forget to list him in my top-10s and favorite artist lists.

I don't, but I do get confused about whether Astral Weeks or Horses is the greatest album ever.scotto wrote:

As good as any of his other albums. Sonically, might be his best. If you think this guy is just a joke, you aren't getting it.

I’m pleasantly surprised thus far. Definitely embracing his folk/alt country roots and doesn’t feel as tossed off as the last couple Wilco recordscortez the killer wrote:Love the production on this one.Iowan wrote:Thiscortez the killer wrote:

After the initial listen, it reminds me much more of Sukierae than anything Wilco related.Iowan wrote:I’m pleasantly surprised thus far. Definitely embracing his folk/alt country roots and doesn’t feel as tossed off as the last couple Wilco records
