Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

I love everything up to and including Running on Empty, he was on a huge roll

The Pretender (song) is one of my all-time favs. Absolutely love the lush, exquisite backing vocals. I often put it on repeat for hours

This. I didn't like this nearly as much as Sidelong on the first few listens, but it's time to give it another look.
I like the first one more too.

I just realized that the tractor on the cover of Decoration Day is a Farmall 450.

It's way more jazz than Lucinda. I have it on in the background, but I think she only sings on 2, maybe 3 songs.

EDIT: It's streaming on NPR.org right now

one ill fitting snoop dogg collab aside, much more satisfying. not sure of the production credits but ive long felt damon albarn is a talented guy who needs a strong collaborator (more than just a mailed in guest vocal). his solo productions just arent as interesting as blur or the gorillaz albums with big name producers like danger mouse and dan the automator

lot of really great cross-generation moments on here. songs with/by jarvis cocker, jon spencer, thurston moore especially fun. she was never a rgeat singer and definitely didnt grow into one but she still knew how to make up for it with personality

It's actually not bad, so far. I am kinda annoyed that he recorded "Throwback" for a solo record instead of putting it on the next MMJ album

really enjoyed that JJ on first listen. did not expect it to be that lo-fi. its like he hardly even bothered getting great vocal takes throughout, in a good way

I'll have to listen to this again. Put it on in the background the other day and it didn't land.

i find jazzy-ish crooner a pretty interesting look on trent though
