featuring of my very favorite Neil songs, and one I believe to one of his most underrated, I'm Laotian

Want the testimony of

On the brutal crimes of love

"The Ocean" and "Throw Your Hatred Down" are gems.

I've always felt these lyrics are a perfect description of Neil:

I'm not present
I'm a drug
That makes you dream
I'm an Aerostar
I'm a Cutlass Supreme
In the wrong lane
Trying to turn
Against the flow
Son, this ain't a dream no more, it's the real thing

Only given it one listen so far, but I highly enjoyed it. As much as I liked Pure Comedy, this one is much easier listen.

American Aquarium "Things Change" is their best work yet. Poignant political tunes that rock and aren't preachy. Hammer-on-nail description of life in Middle America. Sober songs on par with Isbell.

God damn it, BJ Barham.

Again. Too early to call it my favorite of the year but it's the one that's had the most early impact for sure. Really, really great.

I spun this last night. Started off slow, but about halfway through I thought "whoa".

In one long weekend in 2000, a friend and I caught Norman Blake for a show in Chattanooga, then Hartford for two shows at some small school in Dahlonega. One of the best weekends of my life.
