Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Thanks !

They really appear to be stretching out the jams as the tour moves along. Cannot wait for Boulder in about 10 days.

They are sounding really good on this tour -- Mayer was great on Deal last night. I'm looking forward to seeing them tomorrow night. I'm sure the Boulder show will be cool. Have fun!

Titanic team-up! Sound-sculpting San Diego heavy psych titans EARTHLESS and HARSH TOKE have joined forces to bring music fans a colossal battle of the beasts! 20,000 volts of concentrated electricity will rip through your speakers as the rampaging, psychedelic rock 'n' roll flows like molten magma, destroying everything in its path! EARTHLESS brings to life the towering, 15-minute-long "Acid Crusher," which collides head-on with HARSH TOKE's 20 minute creation, "Mount Swan." Don't miss this mind-bending, man-eating, winner-take-all mashup of two of modern psych's most monstrous mongrels! Buy or die!!!
Lecherous Gaze is another band worth checking out.

as is Ecstatic Vision, esp if you like Hawkwind.

why is this lp not held in higher regard among fans? or is that just my perception?

Saw her tonight--really good. First night of the tour. She played the entire album (not in order). When she was signing the vinyl I bought I told her I was from a small town near where she grew up in FL. Turns out her "Daddy's people" are from there too. Given what was back then the rural nature of central Florida, we might be related! Which doesn't necessarily foil my plan to make her my ex-wife one day.

I just listened to it the other day and I felt like it doesn't really hold up to other DBT albums. I don't particularly like any of the Cooley songs, to be honest.

Same. First impression is that the tone and production quality reminds me a lot of "Mix Tape." That's a good thing, IMO.

Second impression is that if they really recorded this in a cinder block garage, whoever mixed and mastered it did a hell of a job.

I'm not super familiar with Mix Tape. Definitely feels more like the self-titled one than Favorite Waitress. I keep hoping to hear something a little less folksy a la "Constituents", but its damn solid

I love this band, but I listen to this without much confidence. They seem to be going in a direction that I'm not interested in following.

When occasionally playing DJ I'll spin Thanksgiving Filter > Pulaski > Mercy Buckets but that' all I ever do with that album. Maybe once a year I spin the whole thing to make sure I'm not missing something. I'm not.
