Not a big fan generally, but I do like this record a lot. Although props to Elton for recording that album with Leon Russell a couple of years ago.bovine knievel wrote:Think I'll join you. #vinylStevieRay wrote:

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Big Elton fan here, I think most of everything he did up to Rock of the Westies is absolutely stellar, must-have stuff. And of the recent works, love the one with Leon (the Union) and also Diving Board is really good. Haven't heard/gotten the newer one, Wonderful Crazy Night, but it has gotten rave reviews. Back on point: Madman Across the Water rules!Markalanbishop wrote:Not a big fan generally, but I do like this record a lot. Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
such a great song (audio only)
I could totally see the band covering this, though I can't decide whether it should be be Cooley or Patterson singing lead

I have had this album in my collection since the late 70's and this article inspired me to dig it out again. It's a thoughtful well written piece, positive in many ways, but I can't understand why he introduces negativity(if that is the right word)when saying these three vocal albums are better than the classic dub albums from 1976 - can't they all just be great?

Everytime I hear the word Gladiators, I can't help but think of Elizabeth Taylor shrieking that word when the movie won the Oscar.linkous wrote:http://thequietus.com/articles/20121-le ... lon-review

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
That was the name of the three-piece I was in when the guitarist suggested it'd be cool if we all dressed in drag for the big Halloween show. I didn't realize he just said it'd be cool and not that he or the drummer was going to to it, so that's how I ended up playing a gig in heels and a dress. Don't laugh--back then, I still had the legs for a skirt.LBRod wrote:whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:hungry freaks, DADDY!Markalanbishop wrote:
