What's Everyone Listening to?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Yep, have only had a chance to listen at work through crappy CPU speakers but this is the stuff of DBT legend. The band knocked it out of the park with this release, can't wait hear it cranked on the home stereo Friday.

If you like country music, the sound of telecasters and drinking songs, then you need to check out this record.

Again. To answer Bubba's question it's kind of folk music. Alela Diane has done some of my favourite albums over the last few years and Ryan Francesconi is Joanna Newsom's usual guitarist. It's a bit more like a Newsom record than previous records by Diane as the songs ramble a bit without a distinct verse/chorus structure. It's very good but probably not to the taste of most people on the board.

Me too. I've been slowly making my way through this beast the last couple of days. The sound quality on this is insane!!! So much stuff going on, you have to listen with headphones. I love when Matt kicks into the bass line of The Magnificent Seven at the end of Used to be a Cop, I almost fell out of my chair. I'm trying to get over the Cooley phrasing but it's not too big of an issue since he's been doing it for a while now. I also thought it was to stop all of us from singing along.

Currently on PPOTM. :ugeek:

(I wish this was a DVD)

Listening on the computer, which means I can't really hear the bass at all. Can't wait to crank this in the car

No vinyl, but it was a nice gesture for them to send the digital files on release day.

Really amazing and glad that Runaway Train and Girls Who Smoke got some a proper, long deserved official release.
