What's Everyone Listening to?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Tequila Cowboy wrote:All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes is a top 25 all time record for me. Higher than any Who record save Quadrophenia. Slit Skirts is fantastic. I guess it's my favorite Townshend record unless you include the Towhnshend/Ronnie Lane album Rough Mix. That one is top 15.
You're trolling the board with this, right?

If not, that Tipping Sacred Cows thread's gotta be around here somewhere.

Absolutely not trolling. I far prefer Townshend solo to the Who as I've never been much of a Daltrey fan. I do love Quandrophenia and have in my top 10 of all time. Live at Leeds is one of the 5 best live records of all time. Bean's issue is he doesn't understand my love for All the Best Cowboys... I'm not sure I even understand the trolling comment.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

Picked this up on a whim on Record Store Day and have been really enjoying it ever since. It's a compilation of these performances

https://www.youtube.com/user/sawyersessions/videos

featuring the likes of Chuck Prophet, Robyn Hitchcock, The Autumn Defense, and a bunch more I can't remember because the tags got all screwed up when I ripped it.

Highly recommended as very pleasant coffee shop-esque background music.
ain't no static on the gospel radio

Still haven't heard that one. Worth the $$$?
It was a gift so I'm not even sure what it goes for, but I think so. Lots of material like the Summerteeth demos that was new to me, and the packaging is really nice. The booklet has essays from band members and other notables, and Tweedy contributes (funny, insightful) commentary to about half the tracks. If you like Wilco it's a no brainer.
co-sign.

nothing that was really technically unreleased, but it's nice to have it all in one gorgeous package (twss).

My Morning Jacket - The Waterfall

Not all the way through, but this is decent. I don't hate "Among the Living" like some folks.

Nothing's blowing me away, but nothing is a turn off either. I can get behind the "best since Z" consensus.

EDIT: "Tropics" is bad ass

See and here we thought you were the lizard king and you could do anything. I'm so disappointed.

It really is going to probably come down to this one or John Moreland's record when the year does come to a close but then again Will Johnson has a record coming in the fall so you never do know.
