Must be B-Rox week. I listened to 24 Hours a Day on the way to work this morning and yesterday.

Shit, I didn't know the answer either. I just wanted a card.Beebs wrote:I think I should be commended for not being afraid to ask a question that I knew was going to draw fire from you nerds.
I'll be considering myself pretty much a hero.

Have I mentioned that this bothers me a lot more than it should?Tequila Cowboy wrote: Then again I haven't listened to a Springsteen record released after 1984 either so what do I know?

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I love the early records, I still listen to all of them up to and including Nebraska, Greetings and Darkness on the Edge of the Town are both top twenty records for me, but Born in the USA shut down my Springsteen fandom. Cold. It was completely unfair, I actually liked the record at first but I hung with a crowd back then that considered it an offense against humanity and unfortunately that group think stuck. I actually tried to listen to it a couple of years ago and although I no longer have the hate it's awfully hard to find the love. After that I just never bothered to listen to anything else. Sorry to offend.Smitty wrote:Have I mentioned that this bothers me a lot more than it should?Tequila Cowboy wrote: Then again I haven't listened to a Springsteen record released after 1984 either so what do I know?

Not really offended, but as your friend and fellow enthusiast I think you're missing out on some great music due to your own stubbornness.Tequila Cowboy wrote:I love the early records, I still listen to all of them up to and including Nebraska, Greetings and Darkness on the Edge of the Town are both top twenty records for me, but Born in the USA shut down my Springsteen fandom. Check out Dead Man's Town, the BITUSA tribute record. I think it's more hit than miss (Justin Townes Earle aside) and it showcases the strength of the songs sans the 80's production values.

"Jellyroll" is just one big, giant fat-ass rock riff. Fuck yes. Been far too long since I've put this one on.

that's a great record. Cary is a real talent and a good guy. I'll match your Cool Breeze with this
Fiddler's Green is a fantastic song.
Some people are working hard to try to get Blue Mountain's Free State of Jones into the Matthew McConaughey movie of the same name (and same story). Hope it happens.
