I'm 42 years old. I'm skeptical by nature. I'm in the midst of a life-altering moment. I'm not in the market for life-changing, new music. You could make the argument that I'm over-sensitized when it comes to rock & roll. This blew my fuckin' mind. I always thought Bo Diddley was some old, drunk, high dude who played wacky, homemade guitars and rode the Chuck Berry/Little Richard wave. This video changed it all. Are you fucking kidding me? I once wrote if an alien came down from space and wanted to know what rock and roll was, I would have him/her/it listen to Magnolia Electric Co's Trials & Error. Nope. I'm showing him/her/it this. Circuit-blowing, perspective-altering stuff. Hole Lee Foo King Sheet.

Being payed overtime rates at work for doing next to no work, and listening to this lot.
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Yeah, it's new, giving it another go right now. I'm a sucker for Dwight, but a very strong first listening experience. Top notch backing musicians here. Title track is great, nice take on Man of Constant Sorrow & the final track V's of Birds has a kind of Jackson Browne, Garth Hudson Band-y vibe about it. Great harmonies throughout, no skippers, that's for sure.dime in the gutter wrote:new one? thoughts?3milelake wrote:

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
totally agree. i was just talking on another board recently about how as much as i love blur, i rarely listen to them cuz all their albums feel at least 2/3 songs too long to me. take my dozen favorite songs of theirs and it beats almost any other band out there, but im not a mix/single tracks kinda guy and i rarely have time for albums with many skippable songs. i keep hoping dbt puts out a lean ~40 minute album eventually but i think patterson writes too many songs for thatClams wrote: More records nowadays should be 34 minutes. speaking of half hour albums:
this thing is better than it had any right to be. bunch of old farts sounding as blown out and raucous as they did 50 years ago. fun stuff
