Getting past the initial spins, digging deeper.

For those interested, this article pretty much makes a Ryan Adams AOTW obsolete.

Read the piece and giving the album my 5th listen. I like it ok, not as much as Ashes & Fire but it's not a bad record. I also read the piece which unfortunately just confirmed how much I dislike this guy. He just plain rubs me the wrong way and always has. I think my biggest beef with him is how he thinks he's a better judge of his work than his audience is. That's a conceit I just can't tolerate.

After few days initial listening, I am very impressed. I liked Haw but it blows that record out of the water. Love every track. Album of the year?

Went to redeem a download for the Temperance League's new record (Rock n' Roll Dreams) today and upon checking "Recently Added" in iTunes I found the new U2 instead. I'm only 4 songs in but so far, so good. By the way, I finally got the Temperance League record to download by rebooting iTunes. And this explains how the new U2 ended up in iTunes.

Aw shit, forgetting the music for a moment, does the release of this record mean we're going to have to endure that insufferable cock Bono pontificating endlessly in the media for the next month or so? I guess so, and I see he's at it already.

"People who haven’t heard our music, or weren’t remotely interested, might play us for the first time because we’re in their library," he writes. "And for the people out there who have no interest in checking us out, look at it this way… the blood, sweat and tears of some Irish guys are in your junk mail."

Blood sweat and tears? What planet is this idiot living on?

Not that he'll care, but even if it is free I would rather have my toe nails ripped off with pliers than listen to his bands new "event" - sorry, album!!

To paraphrase Beebs

I just don't get that worked up about Bono or U2. Evidently it doesn't take much for them (or him) to get under people's skin. I'm not sure I understand why folks are so easily bothered.
