Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I guess I'm paying, for the things I have done
If I could go back, Oh Lord knows I'd run
But I'm still losing this game of life I play
Living and dying with the choices I've made
E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle.
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Brendan O'Brien was a perfect match for these guys. I tend to get really excited for a new album and overrate it, but this is their best work. This band has not yet hit their peak.

At home, in the car, at work, plus I've had "Dream On" stuck in my head since I first heard it. Love this.

I've been listening to the Lee Bains record again.

First listen to these guys. Would I be way off base in suggesting that Lucero streamlined their sound on the last couple albums to appeal to this fanbase...?

Funny you say that. These guys actually cover Lucero frequently. I also think Lucero did the opposite of streamline their sound, for better or worse, depending on your view point.
IMO they sound like a slightly more polished version of how Lucero used to sound with more of a Motown influence where Lucero brings a country/southern rock influence.

I never "got" Gaslight Anthem. They sounded more akin to Blink 182 or Sum 41 than Bruce or any of the more respected comparisons.
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever
