Had to look up Polk Salad Annie. Plays a central role in RWH's new song Mother Blues. And wouldn't u know it-- recorded in Muscle Shoals.

Btw-- as I was listening i thought to myself, bet ya dime likes this guy. 8-)

Tony Joe White rocks. Had the Polk Salad Annie single when I was a kid.I Also have a live version from none other than The King, on the Live At Madison Square Garden album. That song brings up some pretty good memories. Also check out the song Willie & Laura Mae Jones. I think it's on the album Deep Cuts. Great song.

Now:
Joe Ely-Live Shots

Clams, that's just downright depressing, tho it does speak well of your subconscious. Dime's been singing TJW's praises (and turning many of us on to him) for as long as I can remember, at least back to 9B days.

I blame Southern Culture On the Skids, especially their song "Voodoo Cadillac" that includes the lyrics:

Come on baby take a ride with me
Up to Mississippi down to New Orleans
Tuck and roll a FM stereo
Got some Tony Joe White on my radio...

After wearing off the grooves on the album that comes from (Dirt Track Date), I went out in search of some Tony Joe White and happened upon that greatest hits collection from the Warner Archives. I was already familiar with him thanks to "Polk Salad Annie" but I was surprised to learn there was also several other songs of his I knew of, even if they were covered by other folks.
