forever I told my friends that the GD should do a Promised Land tour........... would have been awesome but also would have had them play a ton of places reasonably close to where I was living

Seeing as how I have the JFK '89 and a Dave's Picks is coming out soon, as well as I have to re-up on the subscr. for next year, I decided to sit this one out. Hope I won't regret it!

Just got in on the 2018 Dave's Picks subscription.

Truly too good of a deal to pass up.

11/6/77 for the first installment made it even more of a no-brainer.

Decided to sit out the Dave's Picks subscription this year. I'm drowning in 70s Dead, and I didn't even open the last two they sent. I also missed the 'early bird' window, so it's tougher to get inspired to take the plunge. But yeah, I generally feel like the series favors 70s shows (and--don't get me wrong--I LOVE 70s Dead), and I'm just burned out on that era, which is something I thought would never happen.

RFK box, otoh, is mighty tempting. I love '89, and the set is reasonably priced. Hmmm...

Jews for Jerry

I found this article very interesting. Growing up in western NC I went to school with very few Jewish kids and had virtually no exposure to Judaism and Jewish culture. However, once I became a Deadhead in my junior year of high school and began traveling to the northeast for shows, that changed.....bigly! Going to shows in PA, NY, NJ, CT, MA, a hotbed for Deadheads and Jewish Deadheads especially, I met and befriended many Jewish heads and it was a huge cultural awakening for me (both to Jewish heads and to the people/places of the northest- before this I had never been north of the Mason-Dixon line). And to this day the GD and Judaism are linked for me, though nowhere near the level seen in the article, and in, believe it or not, the many other articles/academic publications on Judaism and the Grateful Dead. No idea if anyone else will have any interest in this, but still thought I would share it
