Ha, I just found out that "What Are Their Names" from one of my favorite records If I Could Only Remember My Name is credited to Crosby/Garcia/Lesh/Shrieve/Young, as in NEIL Young. I never thought he had much association with the Dead; I wonder what the story is behind that.

Nothing is as bad as that. I folded the CD cover over so the cover was the inside real pic of Jerry. I assume everyone did that when it came out

I'll go as far as to say it looks like what one might imagine Moses or Abraham to have looked like ;)

...David Fricke must've retired then. There's no way this gaffe would occur with him around, no?

word has it that Bob Weir is on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this coming Monday, along with someone named Barack Obama

also, tomorrow (well, it is already tomorrow in all US time zones except Pacific) is Weir's 69th birthday, hope he's still enjoying the ride!

Bobby sat in for much of the second set and Encore of Phish's first of two night's at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville last night. I have listened to the show this morning and its kind of cool that Trey gave Bobby the lead on Phish's new tune "Miss You" , which Trey wrote for his sister who passed away from cancer. Bobby than gave Trey the lead vocals on Playing to close the second set.

YouTube videos in the link here:
http://www.jambase.com/article/phish-we ... ist-skinny

PanicStream also has the full show up.

[2] Bob Weir on guitar.
[3] Bob Weir on guitar and vocals.

Searching high and low for a copy of Deadicated the 1991 tribute album. Any suggestions short of the $55 charged by Amazon? Arista being closed up is not helpful and RCA does not have it in print either.

Listening to Bobby and Phish right now. Killer. I listened to Phish a lot in the 1990s, not much since but it is cool every so often. Glad to hear them still at it not much worse for wear.

I've had good luck with the used section at Amazon. There's some listed there for as little as 4 bucks per copy.

I was talking to a very successful older friend yesterday, and he mentioned that he was renting out a bar in Chicago last night for an intimate Bob Weir concert with 90 friends for his son's 40th. Nuts.

nice! Wish I could be at the Sweetwater tonight, they are doing a benefit to help John Barlow with some massive medical bills. Besides Weir, lineup includes Jerry Harrison, Ramblin Jack Elliot, Claypool and Lennon, et al. Have friends going and could have joined but I am exhausted from Bridge School weekend and happy to be at home
