Since this is posted in the Drive-By Truckers section of the board, I've been trying to figure out what the connection to the Truckers is. Please enlighten me.

I had the same question, KG, but i believe the answer is that they're opening some shows for the Truckers.

Yes, they are opening the shows this week, and I would assume some more down the line because they have been picked up by DBTs management and booking teams.

Man this band is great. Been listening to the 4 track EP over and over. Is there any more of these guys out there other than the 4 track ep? Any live stuff available for download? Really hope I can catch one of the shows they are opening.

They're so new, I don't think they have that much. There is a downloadable live show somewhere (I can dig it up when I'm not traveling), but the sound quality was fairly poor.

They are playing on November 5 with Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires in Waverly, AL for Standard Deluxe. The Shakes are headlining. I live in Northern California. I'm thinkin' about it.

The same folks that manage DBT picked them up recently. Also, they have the same booking agent now.

I know he's thrown the idea out there to them. I'd MUCH rather hear what he could do with them than Auerbach.

I alerted Lamont Prince -- the man who put the 9:30 Club on the map back in the eighties -- about Alabama Shakes. He is totally blown away and wants to book them in Berlin. Berlin, Germany that is.

I scored two tickets for the Dec. 9 show in NYC. This morning my fourteen year old was so excited because I told him I would take him to the show. He digs The Shakes and the amount of buzz this show is starting to get is staggering. (Two weeks ago they played the CMJ convention and tore the roof off the sucker. Now all of the industry heavies are going to show up on Dec. 9.) When my son came home from school I showed him the tickets. The tickets said "21 and Over". He is disappointed and wanted to see this show badly. Anyone know where I can score a fake id for my kid? And don't go blabbing that I am looking for a fake id for my 14 year old or my ex will take away my visitation rights for good.

Maybe they'll make an exception since he's with his pops.
In Wisconsin you can legally drink with your parents in a bar.
for a few hours, I'm 19 years old and rock and roll is the only thing that matters.
