AC/DC
Van Halen w/DLR
Tom Petty
Whitey Morgan and the 78's
Shooter Jennings

After being spoiled by Truckers shows being GA for $20-$25, I am going to have a hard time getting to 3 of those shows.

Don't worry about it Steve. Boring, sterilized and sloppy.

I have seen them a couple of times, and they were pretty good. Of course first time was NYE 1999/2000 in Detroit, and last time was early in the Death Magnetic tour, so they hadn't been out for a while.

good fucking list! any list that has Walkabouts and Los Natas rules. i should have listed Walkabouts on mine. Not sure Comus would have the same punch, but if we are digging that far back then add Amon Duul II to mine as well.

I saw the White Stripes touring Elephant (same show as the "Under the Blackpool Lights" DVD). it was in freakin' credible.

The Raconteurs did tour here, but I never warmed to the records so didnt go.

I did however see The Dead Weather this year and they were better than the White Stripes. No shit. If they're near you (they are touring the US this summer www.thedeadweather.com ) i totally recommend you make the effort to go. You have my personal guarantee of a good time. They've got a new album out also.

The Dead Weather album bored the shit out of me. I think that Consoler of the Lonely and Icky Thump are JW's 2 best works, and I would love to see either of the Stripes or Racs. But the Dead Weather? I dunno man, they must be better live because I found their album to be really, really average compared to the Stripes or Racs.

1. Neil Young
2. The Boss
3. Iggy Pop
4. Levon Helm
5. Radiohead

Boring list. I've actually been pretty good at marking off bands I want to see. Since I wasn't alive, or too young to see 4/5 of those artists' heydays, its been harder to catch up. I was supposed to go see Radiohead before OK Computer came out, and decided not to go, then when Kid A came out, but it got canceled due to rain.

I hear you. I saw them on Austin City Limits and Jay barely moved. It was like he had suffered a severe head injury as a child.
I'd like to change my selection to the Jayhawks please.

Thanks tinnitus. Comus played Roadburn in recent times so thought they were okay to list...but I'd absolutely love to see Amon Duul II if they every chose to play together again. I have now edited my original post to include Motorhead instead of Comus...can't believe I forgot to include them. I had a ticket to see them at Toad's Place on the March or Die tour but it was canceled when Lemmy got injured on tour.

Another nice list. Saw The Clean at one of Yo La Tengo's Hannukah show's a few years back. On a related note I saw The Bats and Chills at Maxwells on back to back nights about 15 years ago. If memory serves Phillipps broke up the band that night. Ribot is also fantastic, his shows with Los Cubanos Postizos are just mind blowing. Shame that he only seems to bring them over to Europe these days

i've only seen Ribot play once and that was because i traveled down to NYC...what a player!

yeah, the Chills deserved to be much bigger...Martin's written some amazing songs. it's good to see the Bats operating once again. they were the very first band i took photos of (in a serious manner...i think i had a couple of really bad snapshots of Gas Huffer and Zeni Geva somewhere).

I'm guessing you checked out The Bats release from last year, The Guilty Office? It's a nice return to form

are you going to the BOH show at the Independent? Lucky you! I would have gone for that if we weren't doing Bend the next day

Did you see that REK is coming back to the El Rey in August? Hopefully this time he'll wake up BEFORE hitting the stage!
