Artist of the Week 6/27/11 - The Weight

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

So I ordered the vinyl directly from Colonel Records on December 30 and have yet to receive it. I have made 3 attempts to contact them and have not received a response. Anybody else order directly? I'm beginning to get a little pissed off

finally received a response...

We've received numerous emails about missing orders starting right around Christmas. After weeks of complaining, talking to "managers" and filing reports with the post master general I finally received word back from USPS today, when the dropped literally 50 unsent orders back on my front step without any explanation as to why they were not sent. I immediately went straight to the post office to sort it out, as we've never had this problem before. Finally getting through to someone that could actually help me, I've been promised all orders will be resent tomorrow. I'm appalled at the process we just went through and the end result being so many unhappy customers around the holidays. My sincerest apologies to all of you, and I hope we didn't ruin anyone's Christmas. Please email me back or call with any questions. If anyone needs a refund, obviously we will have no problem honoring one. Again, I'm so sorry I didn't have information for you guys until today. Thank you so much for your support and understanding.

i don't care who is at fault, I just want my music 8-)

I've been listening to these guys pretty much exclusively over the past few days.

Right on, Iowan. I had a fine, fine moment today with the song Evergreen off of Are Men. A moment that will stick with me for a long time I bet.

Any live footage of these guys. I'm a little off on the band lineup and so forth. I've looked for a while and not sure of their current status.

All I can find. Love these guys and got on a kick last weekend again. Jammed them the whole trip from Athens to Chicago in '11 when I moved.

It appears as if he is hanging around Nashville w/ his wife, Nikki Lane, just spinning records. Perhaps someone with Twitter powers can reach out and ask him what's going on w/ The Weight.

Sounds like Plunket has a new band - The Joseph Plunket Five.

Well, well, well....a song from the mysterious JP5 called Wait For It....apt title for Bovine Knievel, did you ever get your vinyl?? Decent song, he's not doing anything different....sounds like it would have fit well on Nowhere Now

Unfortunately, after further review, we are gonna have to file TJW’s effort under Cover Songs. :ugeek: RIP TJW
