I saw the show in Essex Junction, VT last night and it was very good.

Neil did his song "Lookin' For A Love" for the first time since 4/13/96. I was really excited about finally seeing Neil do this song live since it is one of my favorite deep album cuts by Neil.

I was less enamored when Lukas Nelson took to the piano to sing a version of "Moonlight in Vermont" that featured Neil playing guitar and not singing at all. I don't go to Neil Young shows to hear a member of the backup band sing a song.

your text about the soundcheck was on the mark!

Lukas Nelson is a hack. He may be the nicest guy in the world but his musical skills are mediocre at best. There, I said it..... again

Has Lukas been getting a vocal lead at the other shows? I have downloaded a bunch of the shows (lots of good Neumann recordings so far) but haven't listened to much. Could just be a one off nod to Willie's classic Stardust album

I've really enjoyed what I've heard from Promise of the Real (Lukas' band) as well seeing Lukas and his brother Micah back Neil at Farm Aid last year, which I'm guessing is what led to this most recent collaboration.

Picked up Uncle Neil's new cd today - not nearly as bad as many have made it out to be.

Here's the setlist from yesterday's Farm Aid in Chicago. It included the live debut of a new song "I Won't Quit" and only the 2nd live performance of Western Hero. It was also his first performance of Alabama since the 1970s.

Workin' Man
A Rock Star Bucks A Coffee Shop
Big Box
Alabama
Western Hero
"I Won't Quit"
Love And Only Love

There was a feature on DBT's a few years ago in AARP magazine. Maybe the one with the McCartney cover, I don't remember.
