Re: Circuital Pre-Order
Album cover reminds me of a later Tool album of sorts. Nice little pre-order package though.

Re: Circuital Pre-Order
The pre-order mentions a "forthcoming live box set." Must be the Terminal 5 thing? Is this the first they've said about it? A DVD/CD set would be amazing.

I went to two of the T5 shows and no taping was allowed so I am hoping that they release all five nights. They performed some amazing covers and rarities that need to be released.

I really don't like bands doing fan clubs...i'd never join. It is basically just a way for them to make more $...and the benefits are never what they say.
and I agree...ugly ass album cover and kind of dumb album name.
I bet this album leaks this week.

I'll be overjoyed if they release all five nights. A box would be cool, but so would individual cd/dvds. That way I could skip...certain nights.
What's Octoplasm??

No doubt. Was hoping that was just the "single" cover. Ouch. Seriously, guys hire a graphic designer or something. Sheesh.
*edit* if the cover art's green portion is "made" with green vinyl like it appears in this picture...that's kinda cool.

I could care less about the art if this album isn't as bad as the last one (or as weak as the Circuital tune).

that song is so much better live---but yeah, other than Circuital and Wonderful (which has been around for years), I haven't been all that thrilled with the 4 or 5 songs I've heard..but I think you'll like it better than EU.

fingers crossed, Penny. JJ is such a talented dude who is capable of so much that I get even more disappointed if I don't dig what he puts out.

Re: Circuital Pre-Order
That cover looks like a Taco Bell promo cup they had a while back. God awful. That green vinyl is fugly.
Re: Circuital Pre-Order
New song "holdin on to black metal" up on their Facebook page. It is terrible. I could only make it through about 1:30 before I turned it off. This band appears to be going down the toilet quite rapidly.
Re: Circuital Pre-Order
RE: the cover art, I felt that the cover art for TFire, Dawn and to a lesser extent Still Moves was all great. Then something abruptly changed starting with Z. The cover art since then has just been stupid.

I kinda liked it
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever
Re: Circuital Pre-Order
I found it utterly ridiculous. To each their own I guess.

no more ridiculous than Highly Suspicious

I won't argue with that.

I like it too. It's kinda loose and fun without making me feel like a paint chip eater for listening to it (hello, "Highly Suspicious"). Kinda sounds like how "The Dark" might have turned out if they had recorded it for Z.

Re: Circuital Pre-Order
So apparently "Holdin on to Black Metal" is basically a cover of this:
Not sure how I feel about that. I guess I don't understand what the point is.

I really don't know what to think of the songs so far. My socks are still on. Maintaining optimism........

Yeah, I'm adjusting my expectations a bit after hearing these two tracks. I like Circuital a little less every time I listen to it, and for some reason the fact that Black Metal is basically a cover with new lyrics bugs me. Speaking of lyrics, I miss the days when Jim (sorry, "Yim" ) would just belt them out into a cloud of reverb that was so thick I didn't have to focus on how bad they were...
It might be time for me to just pretend these guys broke up after Okonokos.

I dig a few tracks on EU, but I'm in the same boat as you.
E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle.
Re: Circuital Pre-Order
MMJ is like DBT to me. I'm constructive as a novice of musicianship and artist intentions. I can't ever say it's bad because they've been so damn great.
I don't get Black Metal.... the articles or Jim talking about Cambodian kids in an alley singing along and this as a cover. I expected way different.
Circuital isn't bad.
Both songs have me waiting for

Did they rename "Friends Again," or did it not make the cut? I liked that song...
