Re: Quick List Vol ∞: 5 Favorite EPs
More Like The Moon - Wilco
Overboard & Down - Okkervil River
Airbag/How Am I Driving? - Radiohead
In The Reins - Calexico / Iron & Wine
The Gleam - The Avett Brothers
Thought about the self-titled Loose Fur release, but wasn't sure if that was considered an EP or a proper album. Jay Farrar's Live EP would've made it but I decided to go with studio releases only (ok, I copped out because I didn't want to choose).

I applied similar logic.

Re: Quick List Vol ∞: 5 Favorite EPs
hardest list yet...good thing it's the infinity list. all these records are from New Zealand, the undisputed title holder of great 12" records. apparently the gov't gave out grant money that was highly suitable to be used to create 12" records, which is why their early-to-mid period for the Flying Nun label had so many.
Plagal Grind - S/T (1st and only 12" on the vaunted xpressway label)
The Verlaines - 10 O'Clock in the Afternoon
Alpaca Brothers - Legless
The Clean - Boodle Boodle Boodle
The 3D's - Swarthy Songs for Swabs
The Pin Group - Go To Town

Re: Quick List Vol ∞: 5 Favorite EPs
In no particular order as they're all great:
I know I've run into at least one other fan of Frog Holler here. For the rest of you, I can't recommend their The High Highs & Low Lows EP highly enough.
Honorable mention (though I'm sure there's more):

Re: Quick List Vol ∞: 5 Favorite EPs
Y'all have mentioned most of the best already, so I'll just throw out this one:
And if anyone has and would be inclined to hook a brother up with the entire Twisting By The Pool EP, I would be muchly greatful.

I was gonna list it, but since it was entirely live I threw up Blood Brothers, which is on the same level IMO

There were two versions of the video, and the one with violence in El Salvador wasn't shown on MTV. It was shown on USA Network. At the age of twenty-five (I think), I used to sit up late at night to see that video on their top ten countdown.
Or if it's about that song being banned from this list, just swap it out for Elvis Costello's Live at Hollywood High ep.

Favorite EP cover: Elvis Costello's Accidents Will Happen EP. Plain white cover on the outside, full color on the inside. Perfect!

Excellent choice.
(Which could spawn a sub-thread quicklist of Favorite EPs and 45s that came free with records.)
As always, many good ones already listed. Here are my 5:
The Clash, Black Market Clash
The Clash, "Gates of the West"/"Groovy Times" 45
The Cramps, Gravest Hits
Steve Earle & the V-Roys, Johnny Too Bad
D. Clinton Thompson, Driving Guitars (which was my avatar for a while on ol' 9Bullets)

Other than stuff that's already been mentioned:
MMJ/Songs: Ohia split EP:
I lost the S:O songs a couple hard drives ago, but the three MMJ tracks are classics. (O is the One, Come Closer, How Do You Know)
Roadside Graves, "You Won't Be Happy With Me"
Demons, Liv Tyler, Everything, Jail... can't wait for the next full length.
Twilight Singers, "A Stitch in Time"
Pedro the Lion, "The Only Reason I Feel Secure"
Magnolia Electric Co, "Hard To Love A Man"
Molina + Zevon

Well, if we're going there, this is a sweet little 4 song 45-sized 33 1/3 rpm included with the initial pressing of Rockpile's Seconds Of Pleasure
