Artist Of The Week 01-02-2011 - Jerry Jeff Walker

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

It might sound emo, but when I need a good lift, I turn to "Hill Country Rain". Don't know how anyone can be pissed while listening to that.

This is for you then...great archival, carousing, boozing version from the hopefully someday released documentary OK Buckaroos.

OK Buckaroos youtube channel - there are a few scenes posted here from the unreleased documentary.

Indeed. I saw there was a new post and I clicked the thread, but accidentally clicked the Page 1 link which brought me to the video of "Lovin' Makes the Livin' Worthwhile" at the bottom of that page. That was what inspired my post.

My apologies, KG. Bojangles is a good tune, too.

From a Jam In the Van feature on Jerry Jeff that was shot during SXSW:

I'd never heard of Jam in the Van, what a great concept, complete with solar panels on the roof! That's a whole lot of fun and so nice to hear Jerry Jeff in such great voice still. Best part for me was on Gettin' By when Jerry Jeff needs to scratch his nose and out comes "income tax is still due....my nose is itchy...and she does too"...way too funny!

Great add to the thread as usual Kudzu!

Jerry Jeff released "Mr. Bojangles" as a single on this day in 1968. Here he is performing it on Austin City Limits in 1976.
