the centro-matic universe: suggestions

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

the centro-matic universe: suggestions

Post by mgsooner »

Got a $50 iTunes GC for X-Mas. I'll be getting UT March 18-20, '92, which for some reason I do not have, and then I'll probably fill out my SV Trace album (i have the retrospective but not the entire trace album). After that, I'm looking to get some more Centro/Will J/SSG stuff. I already have Love You Just the Same, Fort Recovery, Dual Hawks and Welcome Convalescene. So my question is: if you were going to buy 3 to 4 albums from the Centro-Matic universe, other than the ones I already own, which would you choose?

Thanks in advance friends and hope you and yours had a fine Holiday.

Redo the Stacks is a must. I concur on the Will Johnson albums.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

Distance and Clime was a watershed Centro record. The bridge between what they were and what they are. No Centro collection is complete without it IMO.

yea, verily. All The Falsest Hearts Can Try contains many great songs as well but is very raw from a production standpoint.

Dual Hawks is fabulous!!!! It was my first Centro-Matic toe dipping in the pond (thank you PL) and I have just fallen in love with these guys "roll one more number for the road" via Wilco, which is great as well. (what could be on my little mind today!!! :D )

Vultures Await is a no-brainer.

Awesome. Now go sing "Just To Know What You've Been Dreaming" to that beautiful little wonder of yours.
