Joey Ramone/Archie Manning... the similarities

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Joey Ramone/Archie Manning... the similarities

Post by ChicoHarris »

Archie Manning/Joey Ramone... the similarities:

Both inspired young men to emulate them.
Both were innovative and not truly appreciated until later in life.
Both were born on May 19th.

Bear Bryant/Keith Richards... the similarities:

Both thrilled young men, often while directing the troops in stadiums.
Both excelled at their craft until on in old age.
Both experienced youthful stress in Fordyce, Arkansas.

And since it's the season, here's Grace Jones singing "Little Drummer Boy" to Pee Wee Herman:

I was reading an article about Roman gladiators in the 2001 swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated, and it got me to wondering: if Ole Miss changed their name from the Rebels to the Gladiators, inevitably they would be referred to as "Glads." So, when the "Glads" scored a touchdown or sacked a quarterback or such, would the band play "Glad All Over" by the Dave Clark Five?

The Dave Clark 5 were so underappreciated.

That Grace Jones vid is demented.

Glad All Over- one of my favorite British Invasion singles. Total ear candy.
