Thoughts as I'm watching this:

- Wow, pretty big stage for this band
- Mental illness should be treated, not trotted out onto a stage
- Oh, there really aren't any people there afterall
- OR
- Everyone has fled to the back of the room when the crazy person jumps into the pit

I used to be fascinated by the spectacle and mythos of GG but now I just find it extremely sad
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

Bobby Lloyd Hicks, drummer for the Skeletons and longtime drummer for Dave Alvin, passed away last week. Springfield, Missouri isn't really known as a hip place, but the Skeltons are about as cool as it gets. He was a great drummer and an equally great harmony singer. Some videos..Bobby Lloyd playing "Fourth of July" with Dave Alvin, smoking version of "Harper valley PTA" with Syd Straw and The Skeletons, and the Skeltons ripping through "Waiting For My Gin To Hit Me"..written by Springfield's Ronnie Self.

Many say AC/DC isn't punk but good god they are as punk as it gets.... Maybe not in the 80's but in 77 they were all the way there.

I often feel all that at once. It's a complicated world.
