Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Popmatters best albums of year -TBTD at 33

Post by dee dee »

My favorite site for reviews remembers our boys (TBTD comes in at 33) as well as many other TDD favorites. I've enjoyed Popmatters in that if it is something out of my favorite genre and they recommend it it is usually digestible for me. A lot wider variety of reviews than say, Pitchfork.

Not a bad list.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

Mumford and Sons and Ray LaMontagne are the two egregious omissions
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

I'm not sure I've heard of Mumford & Sons.

pretty good list, better than most but still manages to have a whole bunch of bad/nothing special-albums way too high. case in point being the suburbs. funeral was really good, neon bible was good, the suburbs is ok at best.

I didn't notice Los Lobos on there, which is a shame.

Lots of stuff I enjoyed like TCG, Blitzen Trapper, Delta spirit, missed the list as well, but of the lists I've seen the closest to my tastes especially for a mixed genre quasi hipster site. I dig The Suburbs as well - as I've said b4, i'm a musical slut, easy to please.
