albums you heard for the first time this week

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

Big week for me;

Elmo Williams & Hezekiah Early - Takes One to Know One. A true find. Once again, a tip o the hat to Cortez.
Elton John & Leon Russell - The Union - Too much Elton, not enough Leon, but what there is of Leon is really fine

Comments on these are in the best of the year voting thread:

Gil Scott-Heron - I'm New Here
Two Cow Garage - Sweet Saint Me
Ray LaMontagne - God Willing...
Titus Andronicus - The Monitor
What used to be is gone and what ought to be ought not to be so hard

Not sure what your first impression is but as a fan of the acoustic side of the Dead, the Almost Acoustic disc and Old & In the Way, this is a very welcome addition to my collection.

I fucking love it. I bought the original JGAB disc in 1990. I have a few different bootlegs of these Broadway 87 acoustic shows but the quality is not that great.
