Austin City Limits recently announced that both Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires will have ACL taping this season. They will tape back-to-back, but each get their own ACL airing! Should definitely be DVR-worthy if I’m not home when it airs. Also very happy to hear Amanda gets her own airing, saw her solo show in Athens, TN and she was fantastic.

I won tix for his first taping. This one will probably be a little tougher.

Great shows. It was fun to see how excited and honored Amanda and Jason were to be there. Both bands, particularly the 400 Unit, were on fire.

Now it is time for a DBT ACL visit....

It seems like the last (and only) time they were on there, they toned it down for a national TV audience. It was still good but not really representative of DBT. As cool as it was to see them on ACL, I would be more excited about a new DVD in concert release that truly captures DBT in their element. I thought that concert that Yahoo simulcast a few years ago was worthy of an official release as they were off the chain that night.
